 People used to eat sheep brain no so long ago in Europe (I would expect the last ones stopped after BSE ?). According to internet sites they still eat it in Iran, for example. Wacky enough for you ? It is for me.

Used :
A brain shaped stress ball.
Jelly with blue food coloring.
Boiled rice.
Lavender from the garden.
A blue plate.

A completely dark room and a small torch. This was an LED type torch, with very white light and gave a strong blue cast, especially looking at it via my work PC. I reduced the blue cast using the hue/saturation command on the cyan channel.

Exposure 30 seconds at F4. This is the first time I used the painting with light technique, difficult but very powerful. I wanted to achieve a fluorescent jelly and a bit gloomy effect, while still having an overall attractive image, no flat light.

A French title to suggest it is a delicatesse.

You have to be wacky to eat this. Great use of the challange idea. Needs a little work on the left side of the protein light reflections.

Rice with brains in a sauce, with a lavendar garnish? I can't remember what 'cerveau' means, but it looks like brains. *ick* good work.

the challenge clearly says to photograph food... as you admitted, the brain is fake... so I have a decision... does a representation of food qualify as food and meet the challenge? Something to ponder before I decide...

I like the blue hues used in this photograph. Maybe a little more sharpening of the rice. Just my opinion. Good job. Fits the challenge.
