Backlit African Chacma Baboon in the wild in the Kruger National Park. Don't mess with him. He looks calm here but he is incredibly strong, he will tear, bite and scratch you to pieces if cornered or if he feels threatened. We share 98% the same genes. Says a lot about us humans.

I think some selective processing of the face could help. Fur seems blown on my monitor at work. Good and sympathetic capture. I feel a kinship to it.

Very interesting face - I agree. Detail is nice on baboon, I think - maybe not so much on background? I noticed the scratch, too. And of course I wish the shadow on the eyes was not so deep . . . Thanks for the information - I always enjoy your descriptions.

Interesting face--that long blue nose. (It's always a good idea to avoid enraged Baboons! "D). What is the white scratch-like line across the image--maybe a strand of spider-web?

It's a good, clear and detailed shot to show his features. I suppose when one considers what other wildlife you have in Africa, they need to be strong and aggressive/defensive to survive. I'm glad we don't have these guys here.
