I was doing research before driving for 2 hours to Point Lonsdale and came across a photo of a jetty that had the tops of the rails aligned with the horizon. What a cool idea, I thought. So here it is - this idea used in this challenge

WOW!! 3 ribbons in a row from one photo expedition and #1 in the 2013 Unofficial Points and Ribbons Race! (I'd better take a screen dump as it will only last to the next rollover! ;)
Thanks!!

"anyone could take this anytime", jagar says. Thanks, John, that is very profound when it comes from you. I should sell my gear and pick up a different hobby.

I think some DPCers should go on a sabbatical at times. Otherwise they will get rid off the very few remaining ones and there will be no DPC.

I am pleased that others found something good about it. I love the sea, and I love this image. Thanks for your votes and comments.

???"anyone could take this anytime", MMMMMM maybe not!

Sometimes you see something that speaks to you and so you do your best to capture it, sometimes you work to produce an image that will speak to others. I am not sure which, or how much of each, this is but I like it.

Some good use of solid composition principals, great balance of colour, contrast, textures and symbolism both Tactile and sensual perceptual. Either great luck with time of day for the shadow, or applaudable patience for waiting, overall I like this image allot, Great job.

Maybe anybody could have taken this shot, I'm glad You did!

Good Eye!

I love the line up of the rails and horizon, too, Margaret. Colors are beautiful and lines draw you right in. Excellent image. Congratulations on the ribbon.

Horizon is crooked. Voters have become really lax around here. Otherwise I love the lines and shadows. Great stuff.

Great image, I like the way the fence is like the horizon, dividing sea and sky.

I don't think I have my sea legs working yet. Nice disorienting feeling.

Oh weird. Definitely tilted, but the way the dock covers the entire bottom part of the frame is messing with my mind.

The tilt gives a feeling of "speed". Love the sky against the water, the shadows on the deck. One of the top images to me.
