Hey only seeing this now. Another SA photographer coming to the fore on DPC and I note he loves to shoot. Congrats - be it late and keep shooting for the love of it

Congratulations on the red. I am so glad that the size didn't put people off because the image is really beautiful. I can imagine this as an illustration in - or the cover of - a children's book.

Thank you to everyone. Big thank you to Andrew, my first ribbon, I am so excited. Before the challenge Andrew and I had made plans to shoot night skies, we researched the topic and made our plans, to travel into the country to avoid city lights. The day before had to change plans as weather was changing. I used " Rule 500 " that is to shoot with 24mm lens at 20 seconds with a full frame camera. Manual focus to infinity at ISO 3200 with a trigger release. Andrew held the lantern. I forgot to set the Noise reduction in the excitement of the moment. Wow this is great.

Well done Keith. I think I've never been so famous (that's me with the lantern).

Now here's where 800 px doesn't do a photo justice. This crop reduces the size on the web to where you really can't appreciate it. This is a magnificent sky, I hope it does well!

I like this, make you feel like a voyeur.

I can't figure out how so many people were able to capture such starlight in basic editing. Hoping for a PM of how you did this. hint hint. All joking aside I would love to know your techniques so that I can try this.

My only critique is that I wish you would have used the full 800px's

I love this shot - I wish it were bigger. Still it is one of my top few.

Great sky. Wish the artificial light below could have been more subdued.
