 This is me, dressed in my girliest dress and holding a cute bear I bought for myself last year. I was going for "touch" on both the physical and emotional level, but clearly, I didn't achieve either. The reason I didn't show more of my hand is because my veins are pretty noticeable, and I thought it would be obvious that this wasn't a child's hand. Anyway. I still think it meets the challenge on both levels, but not many saw it that way. :(

Nice, emotive entry. I like the muted color and your choice of border works well for this entry. My only suggestions for improvement would be to show more of the hand clutching the bear (to better convey the feeling of security you chose for your title) and perhaps to include slightly more of the bear's hat as well. Nonetheless a solid entry that I believe should have scored a little higher.

I like the color, and I'm not (and I mean, i'm realy not) a "border-lover" bit in this image it realy works. Great job.

I love this photo. My only suggestion would be to show more of the child's hand. I'm sure some people will say something about the border, but I like the way the photo fades into it.

I think this image would have had more impact with more of the hand showing. I like the cropping though, I just imagine an extra 1" or 1 1/2" on the bottom showing the rest of the hand would do wonders. Nice moment.

I'm sure some people will give you grief about the skin tone (it looks slightly off-color) or the border fade. *I* happen to love this picture though. It is one of my two tens for this challenge, and I did look at every single one of the entries. Top notch! I adore it, well done! :)
