Yanik, greetings from the Critic Club!!! Hey, nice image. Made me laugh, so on that you got a 5 from me to start with. I see a couple things that can be improved a little on. The first is that the image needs to be straightened. It is running a little up hill. With so many horizontal elements perspective is real important to keep the viewer balanced. It is the first thing I check in all my images. Another thing I notice is that the image is a little harsh looking. I think it is generated by the burning high lights. Shooting shots like this are hard because you aren't in a controled environment. I am sure the harsh affects in the oven are generated by windows behind you. Maybe next time get a big dark blanket and hang it up behind you to block external light. I have done that many a time. The mid tones (middle grey tones) are not really represented here and also lend to a harsh affect.

I think I would be remiss if I didn't mention the things I like about this image. I love the looks of the heat elements the grey tone gives me the feeling they are turned on. I love the splatter in the back of the oven. I also love the humor in it and appreciate it greatly. And lastly I love the subject. Looks psycho and that works here.

Overall you have a great concept here and a good image. Hard shot to pull off but I think you did admirably. A few tweeks here and there would help...

If you have any comments or questions about this please don't hesitate to email me.

Funny, but lighting is a bit harsh on the poor bear!

This makes me ashamed of my oven. I'd have to clean it first. Cute idea. Bet you upset some younger ones. But it's still cute. And it's a good photo. Hard on to do in my opinion. But you did a great job on this. I'd give it a 7. PTL

it is strange, but not pleasing to look at.

Ouch, were any teddies hurt for this picture? Well taken photo. Good contrasts. The flash glare spots are a bit nasty, but hard to avoid. Honestly, I had hoped for more out of this world kind of strange, but this is a bit strange, so challenge met.

LOL poor bear - I hope you didn't eat him lol. Anyway, great composition and setting, yes it is very unusual to have such a toy in the oven. I like the use of B&W here as well. GL

Now that is funny! LOL. Did you run out of ideas and did this shot out of desperation? I am now picking myself up off the floor from laughing!!!

Short story- a friend of mine had a VCR and he couldn't figure out why it wasn't working. He took it to a repair shop, when he went to pick it up there was a Bart Simpson Doll taped to the machine, the repair man refused to accept payment for the repair because he had never seen anything like it before. Maybe you had to be there to listen to the story the way he told it but it was quite funny. 8

Good luck!

You've used flash, which has reflected on the back of the oven and on the bear's fur causing a lot of completely white patches. It might be better to put the camera on a tripod (or a stable surface) and use a longer exposure to remove the need for flash.

unfortunately the reflections off the oven kill your contrast of the bear with the bg and make it get lost visually
