 The hoary redpoll is from the Artic and is a rare visitor to this part of Ontatrio. There have been a few seen in the area and I imaging they will be heading north any time now. We have been lucky in Ottawa with several species visiting us form the Artic that don't usually migrate this far south. I have seen the Hawk Owl, a boreal owl, and the great grey owls this winter.

Another bird I've never seen before even though I lived most of my life in Upstate New York - guess they didn't get that far south either.
