Greetings from the Critique Club :)

Hi Catpixel :)

I'm not familiar with your song, but I think you did a great job of capturing the title for sure! The motion of the walker with the musician behind her works very well in this photo.

The only item that I see in this image that could be a technical problem is the blue cast. However, the blue cast seems to add to the 'wintery' theme of the cold weather quite nicely. Your white balance could also be used to correct this. It looks as if the white balance for this shot may have been set to an indoor lighting setting. This often causes blue cast in an outdoor environment.

Brighting up a dark image can also be accomplished by using a larger aperture. This, in your case, would have also caused a faster shutter speed which would have frozen the motion of your walker. I believe the motion blur in the walker is an important part of this image. Looking at your camera settings, I think that a manually exposed shot at F4.5 and 1/15" could have possibly given you the amount of light you were looking for...

Keep up the good work!

Good shot for the song. The man walking on by is too out of focus. In focus he still would have shone walking. The rest of the photo needs a little sharper focus also. Could stand to be a little ighter. Good idea, just needs better execution, in my opinion. Will still give it a 6 for composition, meeting challenge, and decent snapshot. PTL

What a sad commentary on the life of a busker! This would make a great shot for a newspaper. I also like the way the busker's hand is blurred as he strums. Very day-in-the-life.

I am not on to appreciate motion shots much and my first reaction and score reflected this. But when I came back around tomake comments I would have done the same with a title conveying motion and it was executed well.7.

Take my comments for what they are worth for I am just a novice with a new camera. Dodo

The lighting is to dark. I would have liked the focus better on the man with the guitar.

I wish it was a little sharper. Although I like the blur.

that's not washington square park, is it? i bet if you'd given him a dollar right off the bat, you could've taken pics all day without him minding, maybe get a little closer, maybe get both feet. sorry, pet peeve. my little sister used to gnaw the feet off her barbie dolls and it haunts me.
