A "bubble" sort of on water in a pan. Closeup. Used flash (SB600 as slave) to light background and reflection. Manual focus. Camera on tripod, remote to shoot.

In post, slight crop and straightening. HDR produced (Photomatix plugin) layer painted in selectively. Played with luminance and colours until the light and the colours were the way I wanted them. Usual rest (resize, sharpen, save).

FWIW,

(1) I listed the wrong lens for this one. Made with the Sigma macro 150mm F/2.8

(2) As to the "disconnected" bokeh, in case anyone was wondering, it's one picture, the bokeh is not added or anything like that. To me it's not disconnected. The island, the sleeping dog, is dreaming, and the bokeh is his dreams :) But, I can understand if someone sees it as disconnected.

A beautiful abstract. I’m really enjoying the colours and the bokeh.

I love these pictures with surprises in them
First the fluidity of the image and the colors need to be appreciated,
then ...whoa... there's the sleeping dog! and a contented one at that.
Always a pleasure to view your work, Ursula.

I like the color and as usual I avoided the title to form an impression first. The dramatically colored background is so Broadway to me that I think of a bubble in the street. So what does that mean? The image succeeds as a landscape subject to the viewers interpretation - the artist of course entitled to her own.

Nice contrast between the sharp lines in the bubble, and the bokeh background. The colors bring it all nicely together. Your careful framing adds interest.

Gallery worthy for sure. I for one prefer abstracts of camera shake in a forest of tall trees, if that paints the picture? Yet I have started to enjoy this type of work even though there is a complete disconnect from reality here. I like the feel of Terra Firma in an image, it's safe and perhaps staid so bear with me whilst I get to grips with your reality. Love the colours and flow and the macro circles of confusion are beautiful.

Well I would know it's an ursula at first glance - I know what other people who commented mean when they say the Bokeh seems a bit out of place but it's something different as most just fade off - it's good to see something different and I hope you continue to surprise us with unusual b/gs

Love the foreground layers finding their way around the bubble. Beautiful colours. I'm so surprised you can do this stuff with that 18-200mm lens; I know it is a great all-purpose lens but never expected this kind of close-ups. Great job!

The foreground is lovely--nice lines and colors. I agree with the others that the background doesn't seem connected to the foreground.

Brilliant colors and lines. Especially the very fine lines of color around the bubble. I agree with Ann with the bokeh, it seems a little out of place compared to the rest of the image.

Beautiful lines and colors as usual, of course. I expect no less from you. I'm not finding the bokeh bubble background to be all that convincing, though. It looks disconnected from the water in the foreground.

The water looks like silver liquid and the bokeh is this nice warm and cold colors dancing together in the background. Beautiful as always

Nice abstract, you wouldnt know it was water, I like the processing/colours and the background bokeh

Gosh, I really like the shimmery, molten, iridescent look here. Beautiful abstract.
