my first inclination was to dismiss it as "too blurry, I don't like the focus on the ball", but the more I study it, the more I like it.

Would have nice to see some fielders or the ampire somewhere. Also, those pots in the background aren't every suited for Cricket.
It's a good idea and the execution is good too. It's the background and the kit he's wearing that doesn't give the idea of Cricket.

slow shutter while moving the ball (by hand) to you could had make the ball to blur nicely... the trick is too obviusly without the blur. 7

too much on the blur.....could have been a 7 or 8 without hte PS work.

Nice composition. It would have been more interesting with an extreme wide angle or fisheye lens.

I love this picture. I understand completely why your bowler is out of focus and thinks it fits well, but I think he is just slightly too out of focus.

One other question... was this staged? Just on the bottom left of the picture I can see something coming from the side of the ball.

Either way, It still works well.
