Cantre'r Gwaelod (english: The Lowland Hundred) is a Welsh mythological 'lost sunken kingdom''.

This is Tywyn beach not far from where i live now. At low tide during the winter months, or after particularly bad storms, the remains of a petrified forest appear when the sand is low. It's usually covered with sand most of the year around. These peat diggings are among the petrified tree roots and fallen trees.

First time i've used my ND10-stop filter for this kind of seascape and i'm pleased with the results so far. Also the first time i've put it on the manual focus 28mm ais- a good match. Could have done with some more exposure time perhaps but i forgot my cable release so it was 30 seconds (the longest before bulb on my camera) or nothing. Also my tripod is broken which is a pain so this was one of the few that came out without too much camera movement. Time for a new tripod i think.

Congrats on the TT finish. I'm glad you managed to pull this off even with the broken tripod.
I was whining to my husband all throughout this challenge that I didn't have an ND filter, guess what we did last weekend? Went and bought one (I suspect so he can have some peace and quiet LOL). I got the Lee system, but not the Big Stopper. That'll have to wait a while...

Magical. Definitely looks like the remains of an ancient civilization.

This really is beautiful Clive, congrats on your HM :)

On your 10-stop filter and exposure; be sure to check that your filter is actually 10-stops. You may have the same Lee "Big Stopper" 10-stop filter I have. I read that they can actually vary by a stop or so, and sure enough mine turned out to be 11-stops when I checked it. A good thing to know as one stop (even amongst ten) can make quite a difference.

I wonder how many people know that this is the Welsh Atlantis? :>)

Very nice image in particular with the title - which, again, I'm not sure anybody on my side of the pond would recognize.

Very nice - I like it.
