 I suspect this will not be the only hound dog...

This is Jessica with her rescue, Franklin. I had no idea that Bassets were so wiggly. And restless... And Franklin's preferred pose was on his back. Legs up in the air. Showing off, um... "everything". I wanted an image with the classic "hang dog" look, but Franklin was impossible to direct. I only got one image of him looking at the camera, and I almost entered that, but I think this image better conveys the title. It is not my best work, it is not what I had in mind, but it is what it is.

A basset is indeed a hound although not technically a hound dog in Southern venacular being a pure breed. The hound dog in the song is used to illustrate the lack of breeding of the lady in question as she is not 'high class' or well bred.
