Met an older lady last August on a trip to Florida while shooting at the Loxahatchee reserve. We started talking about birds and she told me painted buntings visited her feeders all winter. I had never seen one, and she was nice enough to give me her phone number. When I was visiting Florida for Thanksgiving, I called her, and sure enough she said they were there and come over. My wife loves birds also and she and I spent a lovely morning watching the buntings come to her feeder. She keeps millet in her home made cage to keep out the house sparrows.
