 The Fern Lake fire has been burning in Forest Canyon since October 9, 2012.

lens focal length = 70mm.

In retrospect, this is one of the most important images I captured all year. One week after this photo, the fire doubled in size and engulfed the entire valley in the foreground. Still today, the fire threatens 1000 structures and the town of Estes Park, CO.

Very disappointed in the score.

I like the contrasting blue/orange colors. I think I'd prefer more land and less sky but still a very strong image.

Vibrant colors echo the sad feeling of seeing a fire that should have been put out weeks ago. Praying for snow or precipitation of any kind.
