This was taken on an evening walk around a local village, watched the game for a while, not very exciting so I was fortunate to catch the moment a goal was scored. Th other player celebrating further up the field.

I do not agree at all with comments below that say 'what is this trying to convey? I don't see it...'

It is most likely because I played many years as a goalkeeper, but I think this image is better than what it placed. For those that have been in the spot depicted in the image, the feeling and emotion there is well seen and felt.

I will say that the image itself is very well done, the only drawback is the frame of the goal being cut off on the left side of the image. Including the whole structure would have improved it. Not much more than that to improve on!

It's actually a very emotional image and stance. But not much action.

where's the action?

Really clear image, both visually and metaphorically.

My first reaction is that cropping a little off the top and bottom and trying black and white or sepia would enhance the "loneliness" of this image. I don't mean to pick, I just think that this image expresses a lot and that feeling could be "pushed" even further. Good Luck in the challenge.

Voted low because there was no action.

I would have chosen a different crop, with less space at the bottom and a little bit less at the top of the photo. Other than that, I like what you conveyed in this image, and I would have scored it a point or two higher if it had been better suited for this challenge (team sports *action*).

I get what you're saying, but there's not enough in the image to keep my interest, no action, and hard to say what emotion is conveyed without the title. Did everything go wrong because he missed the ball, or is everything happening on the other end of the field, leaving him with nothing to do?

the scene looks too posed for my taste
