Cool concept here... if you still have this thing around, you could always try reshooting it. This time though turn it around so the paper is in front of the metal, then you would get nice silouettes of the metal on the paper. I like the colored paper, and contrary to popular opinion I think the shallow DOF works really well.
I like the concept you were going for in this entry, but I feel the execution is not quite as strong as it could have been. The falloff of the bright light toward the right side pulls the eye away from your foreground. Had the light completely filled the background I believe this entry would have been stronger. Also, as others have mentioned the DOF could probably benefit from being a bit deeper... the blurred wire on the right side is a bit distracting. That said, this is a strong concept and may be worth reshooting with those details in mind.
