 Taken towards the end of our adventure through Australia's outback, this is the open pit gold mine in Cobar, Queensland. This place is epic, and no photograph can convey the size of this hole in the ground, which is why I decided to use the title to point out the tiny white pick-up truck on the hairpin road, about halfway down the side of the pit. We watched it disappear into the hole at the very bottom, center.

As a Geologists son I appreciated the scale of this. An ND or Grad filter would have helped reduce the harsh light. A vertigo 7.

This image looks like is was taken near the middle of the day, the colors look like they could be fantastic but they're kind of flat due to the time of day the shot was taken.

Time of day (harsh light) is hurting this some - you know what would have been cool is to come in some and turn it into a near abstract.
