I had several versions of this leaf, but decided to go with something more obviously backlit, and rather abstract. I really like this photo, though I don't expect voters to care for it much, as this theme is bound to be popular, and mine will undoubtedly be one of the lesser versions :) It was taken by placing a leaf directly in front of a regular, low light lamp. I accidentally double compressed this, so I hope it doesn't suffer for having some JPEG artifacts.
Editing: Resized, curves, levels, sharpening, hue/saturation, and Neat Image to give it more of a blurred, dreamy feeling as well as to sharpen it a tad more. Border added. |

| The tear in the leaf does more distracting for me than it does add to the over all composition. I love the texture, but the lighiting is a little off (The shadow on the right side is a little confusing.) Nice idea, but just those couple little things keep this from a higher score. |
