I'm on a tip top monitor and the subject is underexposed, cut off the top half off the picture and you'll maybe see it. |

This in my opinion is my best photograph to date, yet it's not even in my top 5
Think editing on a tip top screen cost me a little in the brightness stakes for users voting on normal machines.
shot in absolute darkness had to crank iso to 128000 to align shot then shot 7 mins glow is light pollution from manchester on the left sheffield on the right

That's probably the best shot of that hole I've seen here at DPC. I would be curious what the shot would have looked like 20 minutes earlier. I do love the orange there on the left water, but the foreground does seem a little dark. |

Gorgeous colours. This is the best shot I have seen yet of this feature. |

These reservoir sink holes always intrigue me, and yes, a portal to another world is just as I think of them. Your composition combined with the night time exposure and eerie sky add to the feel. |

Mesmerising and the use of the long exposure quite literally "sucks the viewer in".
Unique image, not that it hasn't been used before :) but you are the only one on DPC I think that has Giles. Great TOD to take the shot with distant lights and some activity in the sky. Long exposure has mirrored the lake. It just seems overall a tad dark: the hills and the 'portal' specifically.
It's such a difficult decision to make; should you leave it as you shot it or should you boost the contrast and saturation for a FS? 7. |

I was just looking at a photo of this today in an earlier challege, sometime in 2007 I believe! I thought the photo was very cool but it has been out done right here! Peak district right? It is very well done! I hope to see in on the front page in a few days. Great job. |

Great use of slow shutter speed to capture the movement in the clouds. Also I like the muted pastel colors. I think the subject is not illuminated enough. My eye is drawn right past the well to the bright spot in the sky on the left. |

OMG! That looks frightening. I would hate to be in a boat drifting toward that thing. Wondering where the heck this is and WHAT it is.
Good shot. |
