This image has flaws - I began to shoot a couple of days before deadline and the editing was pretty hard.

The first thing I notice is surely the body of the guy - too big compared to the horse body.

Also the tail is too fake, but creating from scratch a better one was not easy - my last editing was 3 minutes before the end of submission time.

What is not wrong are the knees, that's what I edited best in this image. The horse's knee are quite different than human ones:

On the back leg, the joint that looks like it is where the knee of a human is, does bend backwards. This is not the knee. This joint is the equivalent of a human's ankle. A horse has one very long toe below that joint. The next joint that is higher up the rear leg, up near the hip, does bend forward, and is the equivalent of the human knee from here

With a few days more I fixed the flaws of this image. This is the final version:

16 hours before rollover: I voted 5 hours ago and then turned off the score. Last time I saw it was at 7.04

Most likely it won't get a ribbon, so at least I hope to get another 7 this year.

I wanna thank Edmondo, the Sagittarius, for his patience and help. This is surely my most complex digital work so far. This image is made of at least 20-25 photos (most of them are flames used in the arrows and in the volcano and different skies for the background).

---

I hoped to get at least another 7, but once again I am very close...

Voted earlier coming back to comment.

The night background is very nicely put together. The human half of the Sagittarius archer is fabulous from the pose to the lighting. The area of the composition that needs a little more work to improve on the composition is the horse half of Sagittarius and way the light falls on the rock shelf he stands upon. First off there is just something that does not appear right about the proportion of the horse half - it torso and back end just seems a little too small or compressed. I could be wrong but to my eye, the back half is like that of a small pony rather than the full sized horse needed to support the weight of the human half. The other thing that would improve on the composition if you used something with actual hair that would have been put in place of the plastic tail. It would just add more realism to the scene. Lastly, the lighting on the underside of the rock shelf is too bright and doesn't match up with the lighting seen from the other rocks in the distance or the human half of Sagittarius. The position of the light the falls upon those elements is shining down from the top right corner. Still, a good effort and well composed.

You have done some great work here, but I feel that the image is let down by the horse, which looks very toyish. I feel a bit mean saying that because I love the image in general, but that is what has kept me from giving you a 10.

No points for guessing whose this is, even from the thumbnails. No doubt will win. Is that a bird he's using as an arrowhead?
I presume the horse body was a plastic model.
