 This is the first time I've pulled out my camera in quite a while. Happened to have it with me for some reason while walking through the park when this dragonfly sat motionless. It was quite astounding, usually these bugs are flying all over.

This one stayed in the same spot for probably 45 minutes, and occasionally he would move back and forth so he was clearly alive.

I had a long opportunity to shoot the photo and tried to show how he balanced between the two areas of the park, the pathway and the grass.

Editing was USM and desaturation. My white balance was off and the greens weren't looking too good before the desat.

Also tried to play to the golden ratio and the rule of thirds. The dragonfly's head is positioned right at the intersection of the 1/3 mark from the top and left.
