Very good use of backlight on a subject which benefits ftom the light deliniating the perimeter and the transluscent subject, eliminating a frontal light.

Thanks for adding a comment. I'm only new to this and apprciate all the help I can get, but as I am only learning could you please translate this comment into plain english.

I think it means: Good job backlighting. Nice outlines on your leaf. Good detail of the veins without using a light in front.

What I have to say is: Wow! I really love this, the colors, the slight blurriness, the thickness of the border, the hot spots, and the tears in the leaf. I have a wall downstairs that needs some pictures, and you've given me inspiration for a collection of artwork!

The leaf itself is pretty nice - but the huge black frame/ border is a diasater.

Very nice, but I think the border is a bit much. Maybe is there was more room between the edges of the leaf and the border, but as it is, the border just seems to crowd the leaf. focus is a little soft, but the overall effect it produces is rather nice.

Nice photo, it just seems slightly out of focus.

I tried a bunch of photos of things on my lightbox, too, but abandoned them. I didn't like the way the light faded around the edges instead of leaving a crisp, white background. I also found that it was difficult to get a sharp focus on the lightbox -- can't explain why. That's not to say that what I did enter is doing all that well, either, but ... just to let you know why I didn't vote your photo highter ;-)

Nice light. The composition is not particularly interesting.

The background light could be more attractive, but I can see you maybe were going for that grungy/old feeling.. if so, you succeded
