 As much as I enjoy chasing litter and legs on the street, I love a good portrait and have been working on my portrait skills with all kinds of lighting scenarios. So I thought I'd play it straight for this one. This is my son... and a white thing. (That's the window, Lydia.) We must have shot sixty pictures together. I wasn't getting the picture I wanted, and he was losing his patience. This was picture number one. Funny how that works.

No real editing here -- just contrast in the raw editor. I guess a small crop would have only helped. North facing window; no reflectors.

Intense already at pic 1, I'd like to see the last one. Hehe. I gave up after 15 shots of my daughters. Between pulling faces and the dogs jumping into the images, it was never going to work.

I thought this photo might be yours. I laugh at the "impatience" thing. I get that threefold.

Good looking son. I feel like I've been able to watch him grow up DPC. So nice!

I love the amount of black, perhaps a balance to the straightforwardness of the no return into manhood. (I am prejudiced, bvy).

i really like the off centered nature of this portrait - giving it an honest feel. i just wish the lower right corner was cropped a bit more to lose the window.

I like the lighting and the negative space. I don't think the white triangle in the lower right adds anything to the image, and therefore becomes a distraction. A simple crop of the right side would, IMO, make this even stronger.
