I know this is not technically perfect... I wasn't even thinking of a challenge, or even getting great pictures as I started playing around with Reagan (whose 3), doing what she loves best when she comes over every Friday: posing for pictures. I was experimenting with my new 85mm 1.8 lens, & had my aperture on 1.8 just to test how shallow I could go with my depth of field. Not even thinking serious.

But when I saw how cute she was posing, I thought of the Smile challenge, & asked her, "Hey, Rea-Rea, wanna be in a photo contest where they are wanting the best smile ever???"... "Yes, please...." and she turned it on! Too bad I kept my aperture on 1.8 so it's really softer than I wish it was -- but -- I can't help it, I think it is in fact the best smile ever, so I'm entering it - technically imperfect, high scoring worthy or not. She and her smile are perfect 10's in my heart!

Quite a compelling portrait that really shows off your excellent photography skills. The glamour processing is beautiful except for her eyes, and only the whites at that, which seem overdone a bit. Her irises are lovely and you bring out nice detail in them. The softness is fine for a subject of this age, imo, and I love how her hair fans out in the square format. Little girl grows up early seems to be the story and you brought it out in her well.

Beautiful girl! Totally gorgeous, in fact. But, her smile looks forced... and not spontaneous.

Love the processing and composition.

Love the wind blown look for it projects a carefree mood -a perfect compliment to childhood. A very lovely portrait of this little girl.

Cute girl and a nice style of portrait. To me, her smile looks very forced.
