Watching TDF as I edit my shots for this challenge, I was intrigued by the way the tv picture would occasionally pixillate badly. I turned my camera on & waited for the next one. Curious what it would look like in my camera & on my computer screen. I like it. Not your traditional blur. It didn't have that much contrast, so I corrected it for tone, color, contrast & also denoised it. Oh, & straightened out the edges. The TV is a Samsung 3D Smart TV.

[eta] Oh. It was a helicopter shot, taken as they sorted out that massive crash scene.

Thanks for the comments.

I left the info bar on the bottom as a sort of attribution. I'm not actually on the back of a motorcycle at the Tour de France, though I wish I were.

I was wondering if the pixillation wasn't the result of the focus changing faster than the camera could. I think this was one of those cameras on a motorcycle, though it might've been in a helicopter.

Then I started thinking, that the blur we're doing in this SC is old fashioned analog blur. What I'm seeing on my tv might be called digital blur. Is there such a thing as digital blur?

Here's another one, with plain motion blur

It's like an artists impression of the TDF and you get to watch the TDF whilst shooting for the blurry challenge!

Like an homage to the late LeRoy Neiman. Such fantastic colours.
I think I'll pay you homage and try this technique myself!

They are disintegrating from exhaustion. Strange effect, like a quick painting.

Tour de France? I usually hate when this happens, probably due to bad reception from the motorcycle cameras :) but seeing it here, it's a great effect, fantastic idea! You could maybe lose the bottom part.
