The subject is the cat. The backlit item is the lampshade. I guess that doesn't really matter that much, it's a cute image.

It appears to me that the light is more to the front and side than behind the cat.

the subject sucks as I am not a fan of lamps or cats. However seeing that it is a semi-profile shot of backlighting it gives the shot overall a different look then everybody elses. Perhaps a different sublect with a little more vibrant colors <5>

I'm a sucker for a cat photograph, but I did have some concerns about this photo meeting the challenge. The light was supposed to be behind the subject.

Ha! My cat looks exactly like that. Yours doesn't have a calico tail by chance does it? Never seen another that does. Warm photo.
