| As Christianity fades and secularism leaves a void, a new coping system emerges, maybe it's the full circle. Interesting study and wonderful to see a photo that can evoke such sentiments. |

well, I wish I knew more than you about them, but I don't... Still, my interpretation is slightly different. I don't think it's their mother, this is just another, slightly older girl, but she is already wearing a headscarf. The young girls so far can dress and play free, like any other kids of their age, but I imagine they already realize that the headscarf is likely in their future. And then, after they get married, maybe a full-length burka? So, is this in their future? And is this the future of Turkey in general? Who knows?... But at the moment (formerly) rather secular Turkish society does seem to move toward embracing Islam, and fast...
