I thought it might be helpful in this challenge to shoot someone who was better at posing than I am at shooting! After Amber appeared on CBS's Survivor, she appeared as the cover girl for Stuff Magazine in the summer of 2001, and has done countless photo shoots for one thing or another. Luckily for me, she was quite patient while I fumbled around with lights and draped a white sheet over their front door... :)

Lighting and tone are about perfect; there's maybe the teensiest bit of fringing on her sleeve in the lower left. Since the line of the hat brim and her fingers create a strong horizontal flow, I think I'd try cropping up higher, maybe halfway around the curve of her right shoulder, into a near-square or horizontal shape.

I like the position in which she is portrayed. Exposure and stuff like that is good, but the lighting leaves one thing to be desired and that is the shadow from the hair on her face. I can't see a shadow of the hat or on the background, so that is good.

Great framing. Because the shirt is completely black, the arm reaching across her chest is impossible to see, and I think that gives the shot a somewhat awkward feel. However, I do really like how the hand is holding the hat, so I don't think the pose is all bad, but I think some contrast between the arm and the rest of the shirt would help. 7

very very cute, how about getting a completely white background next time, with the girl's phone number in the background, i'd give that a 10

Very posed, doesn't really convey any emotion or reveal anything of her soul. Too tightly cropped.

Everything is wonderful in this portrait except for the position of her hand. I don't care for that...distracting. The hand competes with her face, being close in size and color, and almost appears to be coming out of nowhere since her arm blends in with her shirt.
Focus, and tone, and expression are all good though.

Cute, cute girl. Love the pose, the light and the focus. I just think your too far away from her. She has great eyes.

Very cute model. I'm pretty distracted by the freckles on her chest. NIce composition. Jacko 8

Very nice lighting and composition, though something about her \"pose\" throws me off a bit. Very nice shot though!

Great portrait shot. I like how the model has her hand on the hat and the way she is looking at the camera. The lighting is just right. Very 'Australian' image.
