 Ohmigaw, another rather boring bird photo without context! I would have tried for better, but my camera battery died a few seconds after I disturbed this guy...

This is the Eurasian Curlew, Numenius arquata. The curlew has a very distinctive call and is a sure sign of Spring.

Possibly a Eurasian Curlew, but I've never seen one. Lots of negative space, which is somewhat effective composition. The bird begs to be seen closer.
