a rather uninteresting subject.

Good idea. This would have been more effective without the window frame and light flare, and if the shirt were sharper.

Your backlight source is far too strong in my opinion, and washes out the subject instead of lighiting it like I think you were going for. Experiment with closing the aperature and using slightly faster shutter speeds, and you'll probably achieve a much nicer effect.
