:)

A big thanks to everyone for all the votes and great comments. I really didn't expect to do so well with this one.

A pair of mynah birds decided to make a home on my bedroom window's ledge underneath the A/C unit. For 3-4 days I'd peek through a small crack in the curtains and hope one of the birds was sitting on the ledge while someone was walking by. I had to be really stealthy because if the birds saw me at all, they'd fly away. Shooting through the window really made a difference because the window screen and jalousies created a lot of the interesting textures. I was really lucky to get this shot.

The birds had some babies and have now all flown away. One thing I didn't realize is these nests have a lot of bird mites and once the host is gone, the mites can enter through cracks looking for a new host. Ugh, I'm now trying to get rid of bird mites in my bedroom.

Sigh...the sacrifices one makes to get a ribbon. ;)

Thanks again everyone and thanks to Don, Ben, Timfy, and Anita for the additional bling, I'm truly honored.

Edit
How could I forget to thank the most important person of all...
Thanks jmritz for continually intriguing the mind with your thought provoking images.

Brilliant, one of my top picks, like something out of a "Alfred Hitchcock" movie, bump to a 10 and enter my 'Verineat" gallery

Is this jagar? I ask that because the photo simultaneously meets the spirit of the challenge and screams out for a ribbon.

I'm giving this my Posthumous Blue Ribbon

Edgar Allan Poe-ish. Kinda creepy haunting, worth exploring.

so not only your figures are conveniently located in opposite corners, and you have that vantage point that tells a little story, but you also have those triangles framing your image so nicely. what more can you ask?

The mystery of the title fits along with the abstractness, fits the challnege very well. (voted earlier)

Took me a while to maze through this image and finally sort out the person and the pigeon (or dove?). So, I'm putting a zero next to your one (aka 10) for keeping me so enamored. Good Luck!

"1" is an apt title, as it is my top pick for the challenge. It is as though jmritz met up with pointandshoot, and while they were chatting, e301 stopped by.

Fascinating image. Hah - and I just got the title, well after I gave your vote. My guess is that this isnt jmritz but that isnt a bad thing. I find this image entirely pleasing with its variety of textures and elements. Would be pleased as punch if this were my image. This is my pick for red in the challenge. Bumping up to 9 and if I get off my lazy butt I may even find my too-too awards to add.
