 Thanks everyone for the generous votes and very kind comments.

This area is called magic island and is a man-made peninsula in the waikiki area. It has appeared in a few other shots before, here, here, and here, but all of these were facing east while this entry was facing west. It's always crowded here with families picnicking, people exercising, etc. so it can be difficult getting a shot with no one in the water. This evening there was a little girl who kept jumping on the rocks in front of my camera but kicking her into the water cured that. (OK, I of course didn't do that but it did cross my mind.) Fortunately, she eventually left so I was able to get this shot.

The city adds a lot to this and I like it much more than the usual "dramatic wideangle shorescape" shot.

The mix of the modern buildings with the potentially primordial foreground is cool and the colors mix really well. The long exposure and the cottony water adds to the feel.

I got this in my top 3. It's makes me almost wish I lived on O'ahu just so I can attempt a shot like this, but then I remember all that traffic :p
