I spent much more time on this then I ever anticipated!
I knew right away I wanted to do a love story, and this is actually a continuation of a self portrait I took earlier.
[thumb]946457[/thumb Hopefully this scores better!

I tried to put a good deal of thought into the composition, although it still could be better I'm sure! I wanted the attention to start in the foreground and lead up the path to the cherry blossoms where the paths break and subtly form the base of a traditional heart with the trees and leaves forming the top of the heart. I chose this particular sky image of several because of how it worked with the composition I had in mind... I wanted the darkness in the sky behind him to represent his mourning, and the light from the moon to be the healing to come.

I'm not all together happy with everything, it was all a little rushed... and my PS skills are a bit rusty. Overall though, I am proud of the result and the story that is being told.

All together now:
-The hill, path, sky and trees were photographed at a local cemetery. The sky was taken early in the morning, and the sun was approx. where you now see the moon, as I wanted the sky to look as natural as possible.
-The portraits were shot in my house with a gridded beauty dish directly behind, and window light as fill light
-The moon was taken from my front door the night before the Supermoon.

Editing: Hours of editing- probably 8-10 hrs at least...
If I could start all over and put it together again before the deadline I would love to, but there just isn't enough time!

Very touching and very well done. Your PS skills are better than you give yourself credit for, but it is the imagination and realization skills that let you do this to begin with!

A touching image. The look in her eye is beyond sad.

Wonderful story here. Not sure the paths are needed to tell the story... or at least not so dramatic that they are the focal point of the image. My eyes go to the sharpest, lightest place... and that's the fork in the path.

Still, it's an 8 from me. Well done.

Very emotional shot. I would have liked a bit less motion blur on the girl head, but it remains a very good work. Love the expression of the models and the ligthing.

Good job with this - the longing/remorse/sadness in her eyes gives this picture it's heart.
