Thought I could use the off with your head as a double meaning for this challenge. I always have these grand ideas in my head of what I want the image to be and it never works out. My thoughts are always larger than my actual skills. I originally wanted to have a green background which I used a gel over my speedlite to achieve but without any other lighting equipment it limits me.

Then I wanted to put the American flag behind me but the flag I own is not big enough to fit the entire backdrop.

Well with the help of KarenNfld and goinskiing who were both generous enough to look over my entries for me I have come up with what you see above.

I was hoping the ones and tens would not hurt my score I believe they have. I new hundred dollar bills would have at a much bigger impact but I just don't have access to them.

BTW, I work for a large corporation and do not believe that all corporations are bad. This image is more about the Enron's of the world. What got me thinking of this was a book I recently read by Jon Huntsman, CEO and founder of Hunstman Corp. called Winners Never Cheat. If you think all corporation's are infested with greed and money please read his book. Very easy read and helps you to realize that you should not judge every corporation because of the faults of a few.

Greetings from the Critique Club!

I like the thinking behind this shot, the faceless grey-scale, presumably interchangeable corporate entity grasping fistfuls of cash. Gave you a 7 in voting. Wish you had done more like a 'flash roll' where only the outermost bill is of a really high denomination and all the rest are 1s and 5s. Ah well...

A very straightforward shot, good lighting with no harsh shadows or glare. I think this same directness may have cost you in votes as it doesn't so much tell a story as simply cater to the beliefs of many: Greed + Big Corporations go hand-in-hand.

I can't help but wonder how this shot would have done if the legs had been spread apart. Here the impression is literally one of tight-assedness (to go with the tightfistedness?) But had the legs been spread a bit in literally more of a cocky, self-assured stance...who knows?

Overall good work and an impactful image. Keep shooting and entering!

Feel free to PM me,

Susan

Good idea, though no CEO is dealing with dollar bills. Hundred dollar bills might have been more accurate. (I don't have fistfuls of them at my disposal either).

The lack of head portrays a person Who thinks of nothing but money. Well done.

i think this could've had more impact if it wasn't smaller bills that are recognizable, but if instead you took the 10's and had them all broken down into 1's and then held a single wad of folded bills in your hand, side-on so that the denomination was unknowable.

Awful title,

My take would be that corporate greed is faceless, yes? Though he's clearly a 99%'er with only 10s and 1s. :-)

Corporations... uhhh... do not have emotions at all.

They cannot be greedy.

But... I like the image. I think I would like it more with more contrast.
