 There was a small flock nearby but this Coot was off by himself. Love those red eyes so I had to keep them :-)

PP - tonemapped, merged with original after erasing most of background, duotone (dropped detail in the whites), colored eye and reflection red, dodged head a little, increased contrast, resized, sharpened, added border.

Nice use of desaturation here for this. The red eye is both compelling and at the same time kinda creepy. :)
