Capture with welding glass in front of lens (#4)

3 exposures combined in HDR Efex Pro

resulting image further processed using Capture NX2
-increase brightness and bring out shadows
-invert
-increase contrast
-straighten horizontal
-noise reduction on sky and water
-unsharp mask
-slight blur on sky areas
-spot touch up of small dark and light spots
-crop, size, and save for DPC submission

Clearly the best "out of the box" image in the challenge. This is simply brilliant. It should be the overall winner, but it won't be sadly. Well done.

Love how the color was inverted in this shot! Such a different twist. Love this!!! And the black sunbursts, just amazing!

Effective in negative, but also really quite nice when I stare at it for awhile, then turn and look at my blank white wall where it now appears as a positive.

A striking composition, albeit an unconventional landscape. I also see possibilities for non-negative and landscape format compositions (especially with such mirror perfect reflections).

I assume you tried this image without the inverted color scheme? I think the inverted color kinda takes away from what could otherwise be a really nice image...
