 Taken from Dune 45 close to Sossusvlei in Namibia.

Taken at the 70mm end of the lens.

RAW conversion in Lightroom, noise reduction, removed two small bushes from the top-left corner, resize, sharpen and save for web.

This photo was taken from a sand dune, shooting at a downward angle. The yellow third at the bottom of the frame is the lower part of the sand dune that I was standing on (and is sloping downwards). The "hill" at the top of the frame is actually mostly level ground. I have no idea what the light shape close to the centre of the frame is...

One of my 10s - reasons why I like this:

Beautifully made. Stunning colours, compelling long shadows but most of all the lack of sky. Amazing.

Nice light and well captured.
The white outline, almost chapel shaped, is quite intriguing and in contrast with the general direction of the light. Really curious about what it might be.

Very yellow shot. But it's still a beautiful shot. Love the different bushes growing hillside. The lone tree, the overpowering yellow shades... it's all amazing in it's own way.
