Not exactly my favorite movie, but definitely a good one full of lust and twists. I'm wondering if people aren't going to connect the title to my image, but I think it works out pretty well. If I were designing a DVD cover for this movie, I would definitely short list this image. Here's a link to the movie, for those who haven't seen it: //www.imdb.com/title/tt0139134/
Yes, this is another fire shot for me. Two in a row seems like a bit of overkill, but playing with lighter fluid flames is a lot of fun. I spent four days of shooting doing just that ;)
I had two images for this challenge, both with a flaming rose. I asked my wife which she liked better, and she picked this one. So hopefully she's right. I do like the reflections and depth this image offers. Here is the outtake:
Lighting for this was a single flash in an umbrella to camera left. I was shooting through the umbrella, and narrowed it down (pulled it in) to tighten the light slightly. The flash was gelled by 1/4 CTO. The flame, of course, provided its own light.
Post processing:

* Increase recovery
* Increase black point
* Increase brightness
* Increase contrast and definition
* Increase saturation slightly
* Desaturate blue and lower vibrancy
* Topaz Adjust 5 and DeNoise
* White balance
* Increase saturation and vibrancy
* Dodge of part of the flame that was off color
* Blur parts of the flame that were over sharpened by Topaz
* Export as TIFF
* Resize
* Sharpen Edges
* Save as JPEG

A great movie. This was an interesting choice for your portrayal. I like the rose being on fire, signifies the the fact that there is no "real" love here, that it's cruelty. The colors are beautiful, and the reflection just enhances the picture. 8
