Man this REALLY sucks!!! I love my entry so much that every now and then I open it just to look at it. ZERO comments. I wish someone would tell me what's bringing it down.

I am going to try to comment on all the entries at some point. But I tend to like stuff that other voters don't. Not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing.

A personal Bottom 10. Oh the humanity! I am getting nice comments though...

Just got a 3. I hope God doesn't listen to my thoughts about that person right now...I soooo wish him a ban for life. UGH

Just keep in mind, as yer cryin' in yer coffee, that your 10th-worst is better than some folks' personal best.

How's that humility thing go? I know I've heard it somewhere in one of our religious discussions. :P

The takehome is I am not a graphic designer. I always get comments about my fonts.

The biggest disappointment in the shot is it is simply not doing anything for people. In watching the votes come in they are 90% 5s or 4s with some 6s. Seems resolutely underwhelming.

I'm certainly not above people being nonplussed about a picture of mine. ;)

My commenter likes my font! That's like saying I've got a great face for radio or a great voice for newspaper.

Has anyone noticed how many submissions there are that are not even remotely square? Aren't albums and CDs pretty much square?

oh yeah...

I worked really hard to make mine square, sacrificing a preferred crop to maintain the shape. So, when I went through and voted...I did not vote on any entries that were not square. I have never seen an album or CD cover that wasn't square. I think that anyone not submitting a square entry was not adhearing to the spirit of the challenge.

That's just my feelings on it...

Maybe we can imagine they are the covers on the old CD cardboard cases that were thin and tall. At least if it's a vertical orientation we could...

Since you're bringing up albums as well as CD's, then you should probably also consider cassettes which came in between the two.

...and cassettes are rectangular of course and the cover art was typically formatted to that shape!

Maybe we could pretend that there's this new thing called the Internet where people post MP3 files all the time that don't actually have any physical presence whatsoever, so could have images associated with them in any size and aspect ratio imaginable. But what do I know?

With all the trash talking you two do, a little reality check is a good thing!

BTW - In the Seuss challenge, I finished right under Judi. A fantasy of mine has now come true! ;-)

i personaaly didn't mark down because of the crop but the non squares look less like an album cover to me and that may have contributed to an overall lower vote.

Don't forget 8-track tapes! Not that I've ever seen one, except in a museum :::crossing fingers behind back and whistling:::

I owned a few of those as a child. Mostly I had 45s when I was younger though.
