I'd forgotten all about that!! And yes, I loved my troll - made her many outfits from felt, and wish I knew what happened to her. Would love to have her back but I fear she's long gone.

I was 12 in 1970 and I do remember most of the items on the list, but I was never a Osmond fan. Does anyone remember Trolls---making clothes out of felt, etc ? Did anyone make cinnamon toothpicks---we used to sell them for a penny a piece to classmates. I liked Gold Rush bubble gum--it was small pieces of gold colored gum and it was packaged in a little sack with a draw-string opening.

With patches sewn on. Or was that a British thing?

I remember very well the shaggy dog permed look. I went to a school with a strict uniform. We used to get in trouble if we wore over the knee socks and short skirts. Everybody used to roll the top of their skirt over to see how short they could get it! Funny when you start thinking about it.

I'm a little older than most of you gals, but a few of those things ring bells - notably the swing set (metal) tipping over, metal lunch boxes and thermos bottles with glass (broke my fair share of those.) Bell bottoms and platform shoes, anyone? Short shag haircuts? Oh, and let us not forget getting sent home from school for wearing a top that exposed a belly button. :-)

Had an EasyBake oven that used a light bulb. Had a Barbie but wasn't much of a doll person - best use of Barbie was as a chew toy for the dog when we got one.

TV - Speed Racer for cartoons; Dark Shadows (would race home from school), Star Trek before all those words came after (The Next Generation) - in fact we could all recite the lines. My brother once discussed building a "He's dead, Jim" doll.... And Monty Python's Flying Circus, of course. In high school, it was listening to my mother saying "Shut up, Howard!" during Monday night football.

Yes!! This is too funny! I grew up in Germany, but with American influence via my parents and what grandmothers would send from the US - like the plastic embroidery stuff. My grandma made it and I had a whole drawer full of bookmarks, crosses, kleenex holders etc.

The bowl cut! I loved mine and spent hours getting it totally symmetrical. And the Viewfinder - that was the best. Taping songs from the radio - what fun! And listening to the record player right by my bed. Mine was red - way cool. What a fun thread!

Well I wasn't a girl then (not now either btw) but yes I do, as in those days, GH was the thing to watch.
Oh and Dark Shadows too.

I remember the wedding...WELL! I made sure I was home from school to see it!

So many memories relived!
I had the sunshine family too! Mostly because it was the only doll set that fit in the doll house my dad built me. (The house was 3 stories and it was taller than me at the time)
I also wanted a baby alive sooooooo badly, when mom and dad finally got me one, My neighbor stole it. I didn't have a week. I cried for days!
I never got another one. 8(

I was born in 1968

You often asked your Magic-8 ball the question: "Who will I marry. Shaun
Cassidy, Leif Garrett, or Rick Springfield?"

I loved Andy Gibb too!!

Rick Springfield was the first concert I ever went to. I think it was 1982.

My sister is 10 years older than I so I got to listen to all her albums. I have now seen Styx 3 times! It started my love for guitar rock.

My first album was ACDC Back in Black but that might have been 1980, Highway to Hell I think was 79 but Mom wouldn't let me have something with that title. IF she only knew what was on the Back in Black album...LOL!!

I had a Bionic Woman set. Funny how they are bringing a new series to tv this fall.
That list brings back such memories!

Geez! This is the funniest thread EVER! I haven't thought of these things in years! The Donnie and Marie got me! They had that tv studio too. And Shaun Cassidy and Rick Springfield were absolutely awesome.
My additions would be...
Sweet Valley High and Choose Your Own Adventure books, Make-up Barbie Heads, Jordache Jeans(with comb in the back pocket), and Xanadu the movie and soundtrack.

Anyone remember Krofft Supershow on Saturday mornings? Electra Woman and Dyna Girl? I had that lunchbox. And the ViewMaster too!

*Had a Baby Alive doll
*Had a Viewmaster viewer
*Watched Super 8 movies on the wall with your parents
*Had a Speak and Spell (which, by the way, used the voice of Stephen Hawking)

*You watched H&R Puffnstuff, Banansplits, and Gigglesnort Hotel, & The Magic Door
*Had a Ballerina Barbie (with the crown that would not come off!)
*You watched Bozo\'s Circus
*You had an Etch-a-sketch
*Played Ms Pac Man until your fingers were going to fall off

Had a Bozo Bop Bag (that\'s ME with mine)

Had a Tiffany Taylor doll (with a rotating scalp so you could change her hair color)

Watched Ray Rayner (in the Chicagoland area) in order to know if you had to go to school or not that day (and to see Chelveston the duck).

I will add more as I think of them. Thanks for the topic!!

Mee!! I am one of those girls! When I started "growing up" it all got cut off...only been long once since then. :-) By choice!!

I had the dorothy hamill cut because my mom swore I wouldn't get any tangles if I got my hair cut short. I don't remember which barbies I had, but I do remember the barbie dream house. I was so mad that christmas because I begged and begged for the hot wheels cars that had a race track. I was very much the tom-boy and the only time I played with the barbies was with my sister (who got the lot) and my one friend who was into "girlie" stuff.

Born in 1978, and all EXCEPT these applied to me (yes, I am bored!):

You thought Gopher from Love Boat was cute (admit it!) (never watched)

You had nightmares after watching Fantasy Island. (never watched)

Your Holly Hobbie sleeping bag was your most prized possession. (who?)

You wore a poncho, gauchos, and knickers. (I know what a poncho is, but not the other 2)

You had the Donnie and Marie dolls with those pink and purple satiny
shredded outfits. (Um, No)

You had a pair of Doctor Scholl's sandals (the ones with hard sole & the
buckle). You also had a pair of salt-water sandals. (This may have happened, but I can't say for sure)

You wanted to be Laura Ingalls Wilder really bad; you wore that Little
House on the Prairie-inspired plaid, ruffle shirt with the high neck in
at least one school picture; and you despised Nellie Olson! (never watched)

You wanted your first kiss to be at a roller rink. (I remember skating a lot, but I was too young for boys!)

You and your girlfriends would fight over which of the Dukes of Hazzard
was your boyfriend. (nope...the first DoH I have watched starred Jessica Simpson..lol)

Every now and then "It's a Hard Knock Life" from the movie, "Annie" will
pop into your brain and you can't stop singing it the whole day. (never watched)

YOU had Star Wars action figures, too! (Nah)

You often asked your Magic-8 ball the question: "Who will I marry. Shaun
Cassidy, Leif Garrett, or Rick Springfield?" (I had an 8ball, but I couldn't exactly tell you who those 3 men are..lol)

You completely wore out your Grease, Saturday Night Fever, and Fame
soundtrack record album. (Grease yes, no to the other 2)

You wanted to be a Solid Gold dancer. (What is that?)

You had subscriptions to Dynamite and Tiger Beat. (nope)

Drowning yourself in Love's Baby Soft - which was the first "real" perfume you ever owned!! (nope)

I know! Now I am going to be singing the theme song for who knows how long! I think about my little girl, and I wonder what kind of stuff will mark her childhood.
