Came home from work and noticed some wild turkeys in the front field. Grabbed the P&S camera from the glove box and took a few photos. Hadn't noticed the groundhog next to the turkey until showing the photos to my family. Fun surprise. :-) |

Hey. Cool. Looks like they're chatting. And how long have wild turkeys been living in glad2badad? I'm assuming the groundhogs are a regular fixture. |

Actually haven't seen the groundhogs in a while (except for the one that showed up on our deck a couple weeks ago - LOL). Seeing turkeys in the field is kind of a seasonal thing. This group had a few adults and a bunch of young ones. We also have at least two red foxes on the property (one of them had a rabbit in it's mouth the other day ... poor bunny ... happy fox). Raccoons, possum, skunks, a gazillion deer. |

We get masses of wild turkeys wandering brazenly around here, especially in the fall, with some flocks as large as 15-20 individuals, but I've never seen any of the birds in conversation with a groundhog :-) Great catch!

I think I still have a similar image in my archives of a turkey and a deer. |
