From now on, when I don't understand what is being said in a thread, instead of excusing my ignorance, I will just ask "what does the Fox say?" and I am sure I will get a cohesive, comprehensive, enlightening response. |

Spork, that link is AWESOME!!!!! |
Thanks.
It's exactly that, playing in costumes…usually more than just dressing up though, most really get into the role.

Indeed, it's much more than just dressing up. For some it's a way of living and they attend as much conventions as possible.
There are also different approaches.
Some cosplayers just buy their costumes while the real cosplay-lover makes their costume themselves. Some spend multiple months to a year to find the appropriate fabrics, colours, props etc. and to create their costume.
Some cosplays are based upon "existing" characters and stories while others create themselves a storyline and character.

They may not be your thing, but I think they're awesome. |
The attention to detail and contrast is outstanding. Love these. I am a big fan of dress-up. :) |
