This may seem like a stupid question, especially in light of the recent posts wanting to pay to enter more submissions. Is there anything in the rules or any other reason that you couldn't submit one photograph to both challenges in the same week? For example, if you took a really killer shot this week of someone holding up "4" "Fingers", could you submit it to both "FOUR" and "Body Parts"? Would you as a voter vote lower on a duplicate entry?

I was considering the same thing. I see nothing in the rules to ban it. How voters would react is anyones guess... I'm sure some would 'insta-1' them because some folks like to do that, and look for an excuse. I don't know how this would affect things like your profile, where the shot would appear twice with 2 separate scores.

It would be interesting to see how the score difference works out and if I find a shot I like that meets both challenges, I'll likely try it to see what happens... Right now, I'm working on a new idea for this week since I've just decided my daughter showing how old she is might not be all that original an idea :)

I'm not absolutely positive, but I think a few people may have done that last week. On several occasions I voted on a picture and though "hmmmmmmm, I thought I voted on this already." I just concluded that it must have been in the "other" challenge.

		| Please read the rules carefully as I believe there is/was a rule prohibiting the submission of the same photo to more then one challenge, even if cropped differently. Don't know if that rule was eliminated with the changeover... |

straight from the rules: "A photograph may only be used in one challenge, even if it is cropped or altered differently to fit another challenge. " (in the disqualification section).

so i think two different pictures from the same photo shoot would be ok. just depends on what the voters think ...

Not sure about the rules, but if I saw the same picture in both challenges, I would likely cut my score in half, ie. what was an 8, would get 4 in one challenge + 4 on the other. My view is based on effort, or lack thereof. My view also applies if the pictures are very relevant to both challenges. We have to make choices in life.

 Just my $.02 ($.0316 Canadian). :)

I see that the rules state this ain't legal... The reason I was thinking it would be fun to try was the additional challange of meeting both challanges in one photo... Personally, I think that would take more effort than 2 seperate shots, not less... But as my signature says...

My problem is with the suitability of the same photo in SEQUENTIAL challenges. It has been my experience that most of the time, however suitable my photo is for the current challenge, it would be a far better entry for the next week's just-announced challenge.

I'm sure D&L pick the challenge topic by taking a favorite photo from the current challenge and creating a new topic inspired by it. |
