You've captured some very nice images, Kevin!
So share - which garden did you go to, what lenses did you use, what was your technique for the bug pics??
Just a little tidbit I learned from a sweet old guy whose retired but works at my favorite local camera store to support his "habit"... If you want to attract butterflies, spray some salt water around in the mornings. If you want to attract them in the afternoon, spray some sugar water on stuff. |

Fantastic. The first 2 and the 2 butterflies especially.
Do you have any idea what the first flower is? I like the 'propeller' shape a lot. |

We went to the Huntsville Botanical Gardens in Huntsville, AL.
Everything was shot with the EF 70-200 f/2.8 L IS USM. All the insect shots used the Canon EF-25 extension tube and all except the 2nd butterfly shot were ISO 200. The flower shots used the same lens but were pretty evenly mixed between ISO 100 and 200.
Thanks for the comments.

Botanical gardens are great places to take flower and insect shots.
Tina Faust (tfaust) introduced me to the Desert Botanical Gardens in Phoenix, Arizona USA. I liked it so much I joined and took images there throughout spring this year.
My images are in two Pbase galleries:

Belmont... crap! I'm sorry! I've obviously breathed in too many Tilex fumes (cleaning my bathroom).
Belmont, North Carolina close to Charlotte. Here's the link:
