As many of you know there was a challenge in the New York Times for people to submit a photo taken on May 2, at 15:00 (U.T.C./G.M.T.) exactly. This might be a fun challenge. The NYT one didn't really get many professional shots, but if we did it here on DPC, I think we might get some interesting results!
Tell me whatchya think!

As long as it is a nice convenient time here, we're good. |

Basic editing. Extra rules. Photo must be taken between 15:00 and 15:01 GMT on whatever day. Something like that. I like it. Probably needs to be a speed challenge I think. |

A convenient time there, will be an inconvenient time somewhere else.
I predict a lot of arguments debates about the time that is chosen.

A quick change of time and date on the camera before taking the photo makes it meet the challenge..............

I'm sick of moments in time. Why do moments always have to be in time? Why can't we have a moment in space? Or a moment in turtle soup? |

i think this would have ALOT more merit and interest as a side project, wherein all the shots could be woven into a collage or book reather than voting on the best "moment" |

I don't know... that comment might be construed as thread hijacking. I'm just saying... |

I don't think we want you to be sharing your private moments with us anytime soon thanks! |

You could change the rules a little bit so that the moment in time was within 60 seconds of the official time for sunset in your area. Refer to one of the online resources for the exact time of sunset in a given location. Subject should reflect the time in some way. BTW I have a question. If you leave your shutter open for 3 min (for example) does the camera record the time at the beginning of the exposure or at the end? |

Depends on the camera. For all of the cameras I've seen, yes.

If we take turtle soup to be a metaphor for the earth (remember, there is a myth that the earth is simply the back of a giant turtle, on a turtle, etc, turtles, all the way down..), then I think perhaps we always do. :) |

You are getting confused. Discworld is carried on the back of four elephants who stand on the shell of the Great A'tuin, the giant turtle. |

Whoa...suddenly the turtle reference in the Dark Tower series makes a lot more sense.... |
