Liana''s homepage

This is my first time trying to link something with a post. If I am successful, you should be able to link with my homepage and see my favorite 13 firework photos from Boston''s celebration.

I finally got my fireworks shots, only 2 days late ; )
I was very happy with my results, (especially for my first attempt at this), but unfortunately, almost every shot revealed a hot pixel (or a dead one...I'm not sure, it doesn't matter much to me anyways). Feel free to check 'em out!

Wow - those are really nice shots.

If you want to check your camera for hot/dead pixels, there's a utility here that could help.

Maverick---I'm not shure those are hot pixels. Leave your lens cap on and fire away. Then check out the pictures on the computer. My Olympus has three and usually its no big deal.

I know they aren't dead pixels, b/c I did a 2 second exposure in pitch black (no lens cap) and didn't find the pixel that was causing the problem. I do think it is a hot pixel though. It showed up in the same place in nearly every shot. I'm attributing this to the fact that I was taking pictures for 45 minutes straight, causing the camera to heat up, and I'm assuming, the CCD to heat up as well...

Actually, when I was done taking pictures, I thought, "wow, that wasn't a very long fireworks show..." When I talked to my friends who were right next to me, they told me it was about 45 minutes long! I looked at some of my pictures - huh? I took over 100 shots already!? Time flies with these things ; )

Thanks for the comments on my pictures!

100 pictures in 45 minutes? I took close to 80 in 15. Granted some got deleted, but . . .
Hope everyone had a great one!
