I was wondering if the color is off on this. I've been having to edit on a laptop that's not calibrated. Or...is the lower score because the focusing looks sharper on the basket than on his face?

Both, I think. His face does appear somewhat soft and overly reddish. I tried editing on my netbook a couple of months back while I was traveling. I gave up as the screen was pathetic for accurate photo editing. It was ok for reviewing and perhaps casual snapshots.

I agree, and the lad's back is too bright or washed out. Honestly, this doesn't look like your usual high quality work.

I'll second the red face and the washed out back. It appears the blue is pumped up because the grass looks bluish green. Could it be a bad white balance maybe?? Is this shot in JPG mode? Perhaps you can go back and fix it in RAW...

I shot it in RAW. But like I said, this laptop isn't calibrated. As soon as I can get on my other computer, I'm going to try and fix it. I think it can be done a little better. It was a quick shot at an Easter egg hunt and he cried through the whole thing. LOL

Yeah I agree. I hurt my back and I can't sit at the desktop pc right now. I should have at least put it up on the big, calibrated monitor and checked it out when I was finished. I didn't realize the laptop was so off(and my focus)! Live and learn!
