1st vote was a 10. Second vote was a 5. I think the 5's will over-ride in the end.

Coming down to the real world. These last 2 votes were probably a 5 and a 6.

One comment saying it is gorgeous but DNMC.
I have to disagree, I think it's OK and IMHO does meet challenge ;) |

I am being slaughtered!
One comment saying it's beautiful but that it's a DNMC. I don't agree though as it contains 3 subjects like the challenge requires. And I even tried to clear up what is acceptable within these challenge rules in this thread before the entries closed when I asked this question: "Can a subject be an element or vice versa in the context of this challenge? By that I mean.....can water or sky or fire for instance be a subject? Or can a subject only be an object, a creature or a human being or a thing?" //www.dpchallenge.com/forum.php?action=read&FORUM_THREAD_ID=982036

Ahh, DPC voters. An overly literal bunch. |

Ahh, DPC voters. An overly literal bunch. |
Not really literal as just being able to read.
Several pictures have many subjects and just three named in the title. Others have three items, but clearly not all have equal weight making one of them the primary.
It was a tough challenge topic. |

My image has 3 clearly definable main subjects all of clear equal importance and the title defines it even more so.

Doing surprisingly well this early on. I expected more of a struggle to get over the 5.5 mark. There is still plenty of opportunity to suck, however.

IS a vote of 3 in this challenge the best? Because if so, looks like I'm doing really well ;) |

Low voters are out in force now. I figured mine would be in for more of a struggle that it looked.

I'm getting some very nice votes -- lots of 7s, but I'm also getting the 3s, 4s, etc. Some people are being extremely picky about the equal visual clause. I picked the entry that I did, because I was worried that people would be overly picky about what constitutes 3 subjects.

Too bad, too -- because I've actually only received two 5s, the rest have been 6s, 7s, 8s and then some very low ones. It looks like it would have done well. Interestingly enough, I can see their point, but it never occurred to me when shooting it. Someone was kind enough to point it out in a comment -- so thank you, whoever comments when leaving a low vote! -- you are greatly appreciated

Much better than I thought it would do, but it still has lots of time to settle into a lesser reality. The commenter liked what I liked about it, so that's a good thing. |

I was honestly expecting better. My entry clearly meets the challenge, and I thought I was being quite witty. I guess not witty enough....
I blame the conversion from photoshop to jpg. When I edit something in photoshop, the colors are always so rich and lovely, and somehow that is all lost when I get it ready for dpc even though I click the 100percent quality thing. Colors are suddenly really faded and don't contrast well. Ah well.... |

So much for the idea of trying an artistic treatment. Back to the drawing boards.

It's still early, people! Happy, excited people who love the number three will surely start voting in the next couple of days! I fully believe that mine will hop from it's current 5.8 to 6.3 by next Sunday! (well, not really, but we can all dream, can't we? And while I'm at it, I'll get an honorable mention in the free study and win the lottery, too!)
