Can't believe that there are still teams that haven't filled all their spots... given there's still so many people on the free agent list. |

Kind of reminds me of my Volleyball league every year. Always this mad rush for sign-ups, and there's always like, 25 - 35 people that want on teams, then by the starting day, we have 7 teams, need 12, and nobody on the singles list returns e-mails or phone calls. Then, after we finally make it work with 8 or 9 teams, half the people on half the teams don't show up each week!

Quick scoring question:
The top five team members' scores will be averaged. Does this mean the team's top five scores (taken from five different team members)? Or all the scores from the top five members that week?
What I'm trying to figure out is if submitting a weak entry will drag your average down when you have a strong entry in another challenge, or if only the five strongest entries will be considered and submissions that don't make the grade won't negatively impact the team's score. Make sense? I haven't been able to find the clear answer to that. Thanks for the clarification. |

No a weak score will not drag your good score down. It's your top 5 scores, that should be.... your best 5 scores from anyone in the team but you can't use the same person who has two good scores in one week only one entry from a person can make up your 5. |

Thanks a lot. That's what I was hoping (shouldn't be discouraging entries). That clears it up perfectly. |

I don't understand this phrase: "but you can't use the same person who has two good scores in one week only one entry from a person can make up your 5."
Here's the team:
Fred
Ginger
Sam
Batman
Robin
Plato
George
In the balloons challenge, here's how they scored:
Fred 100% (way to go, fred!!)
Ginger 82
Sam 75
Batman 65
Robin 78
Plato 89
George 12
In the Zen/portrait challenge, here's how they scored
Fred 99
Ginger 88
Sam 55
Batman 83
Robin 72
Plato 65
George 12
I assumed that the scoring was going to look at the top 5 from both challenges:
100, 89, 82, 78, 75 AND 99, 88, 83, 72, 65 and average them together for a score of 83.1
But keegbow's statement sounds like you'd find fred's top score, and then his other score doesn't count, etc. so you have these five scores: fred 100, plato 89, ginger 88, batman 83, and robin 78, for a score of 87.6
So the bottom line is:
How does the scoring work?

What you said above is correct - it's the average of the highest scoring five entries, with a max of one contributing score per user (hence fred's lower 99 is discounted since his 100 is higher).

I'm just wondering since we aren't allowed to vote on a team mates entries how do we know which entries are theirs? do we have to show our pics in the forum before voting to know, or will the site automatically make it impossible for us to vote for them? |

If I remember well, the team entries are displayed with yours on the bottom of the voting page.
So you see them, and you can't vote on these ones... |

Be the same as when you enter a challenge - your picture is shown - now you will have the other team members photos along with yours.

Now it would be really cool if their scores showed right along with our scores too. |

Upload them to "My Workshop" then link them in your private thread. Anything in your workshop is not viewable, only if you link it. |

question:
I'm not clear as to how to upload so only my team can see my uploads? last night I uploaded so they could see it and noticed that I had 17 views ( obviously more than my team # ) I have now put it in my workshop but how do I now put it in the challenge. will this DQ my entry? |

Only your team can see images posted to your team's forum thread. The extra views are from people looking at it more than once. You submit entries exactly as you would for any other challenge. |

You can upload the entry and the "preview copy" separately. Upload the entry normally and put the preview in your Workshop folder.
And no, you will not be DQ'd if someone saw your entry posted before moving it to your Workshop folder, as long as you didn't originally post it to solicit votes. The burden is on the voter to vote fairly or not at all if they recognize the identity of the photographer.
Also remember that one of your team members might have viewed the photo more than once -- each view will increment the stats, not just unique viewers.

Wow, that's weird. Something must have changed after the rollover on Sunday night when the 1st DPL challenge officially kicked in. I hadn't looked since originally voting, but I was able to vote on all challenge entries (Natural Light Indoors) last week, but now when I look I can see some team photos showing up at the end of the queue (with my scores on them).
eta - "last week"

I've given Langdon a kick, and he's currently working on fixing this little bug. Shouldn't be too long now... :)
EDIT: looks like it might be done, can you please both retest?
