OK, so its a bad shot (so no critique thanks) was just wondering what it was? snapped at 'my local' in Norfolk (UK), my knowledge of planes is poor but I'd be going along the lines of B52? but the nose doesnt look tight for that? should I really be asking this?

Maybe a C-130 Hercules cargo plane ? Though with the extended nose cone, it looks more like something along the lines of a MC-130P/ MC-130H/E search & rescue
Certainly not a B52 (nuclear bomber with jet engines)

| Looks like a Herc to me. They used to fly these out of Alconbury, up near Cambridge. |

as gordon said it is a variant of the C-130, not exactly which version, but its in the C-130 family

Yup, definitely a C-130 Hecules cargo lifter, and this appears to be one of the HC-130 variants, but there are just so many different Hercs that it's hard to track which is which...

Jeez, you guys are just so knowledgeable :) thanks for the ID, I didn't realise planes (like cars) had so many different models.

most certainly a mc-130e/h. it's not the hc-130 has there is no hump on top of the fuselage behind the cockpit.
